Moonwater Studio began with a passion for creating. What started as a hobby has grown into a thriving studio dedicated to bringing people and businesses alike small handcrafted treasures that bring personalized magic into everyday life. We’re proud to create a range of pieces, from book-inspired designs to personalized treasures for weddings, gifts, and corporate projects—all made in small batches with exceptional care and attention to detail.

Moonwater Studio began with a simple idea: create meaningful pieces that people could treasure forever. With Alex’s background in graphic design, and Matt’s craftsmanship and mechanical knowledge, we set out on a journey to create handcrafted and lasting pieces. It all started with slate coasters. Who knew what a little 4" x 4" space could hold something so special. We realized there was something special about turning words and worlds into tangible keepsakes, and so Moonwater Studio was born.

Where it All Began

What began as a side project—engraving gifts for family and friends—quickly grew into something bigger. As an avid book lover, Alex expanded our work beyond bespoke designs to create an entire bookish-inspired line, bringing the magic of our favorite fantasy worlds into our craft. Today, Moonwater Studio blends the best of both worlds: fully custom engravings and literary-themed collections, all crafted with care in our studio.

When we’re not in the studio, you’ll find Alex cooking, reading, hiking, or spoiling our cat, Salem. Matt enjoys cycling, hanging out with Salem, hiking, and taste-testing Alex’s latest recipes.
